Intermediate/Junior Updates

Our Intermediates played out an entertaining North Intermediate Semi-Final with Portroe on June 13^th but ultimately came out on the wrong side of a 2 point margin. Goals win games as they say and the Portroe keeper was in inspired form with 3 great saves. Lots to be positive about with a healthier panel and returning players, the aim now is a first round County Championship opener against Moyle Rovers on the weekend of July 25^th. Our Junior progressed from their league group with wins over Knockshegowna, Templederry and Kilruane, losing to very strong Ballina side at the semi final stage. They now face into a championship opener against Toomevara in Toome on July 9^th @ 7:30pm. Support for all teams is always greatly appreciated as we face into a long championship summer hopefully.

Juvenile Board Update - Naomh Eoin

Green Shoots are having lots of fun and improving their skills every week, recently participating in our first blitz. We meet every Saturday morning 10am on the Astro and all are welcome to get involved, participate in coaching or playing.

Our U12s under Conor D'Arcy, Tommy Hogan and Dáire Madden are hurling in the B championship round robin games at the moment. We are at the half way stage of 8 group games before knock out hurling in August. Great effort and improvement on the field from the boys playing U12 matches most Tuesdays over the summer.

Our U14s under Adrian Egan, Mickey Hourigan, Adrian Hogan, Austin Tierney, Niall Lenane, Cathal Whelan and Conor O'Dwyer have started the very competitive U14 A championship this week playing Ballinahinch/Templederry in round one. U14 championship games in the weeks ahead on Thursdays.

Our U16s under Liam O'Gara, Liam Hogan, Eddie Quinn, Mike Blake, Matthew Tierney, John O'Meara and Conor Forde, won the first round of the B hurling championship versus Lorrha this week. Games weekly going forward on Monday nights. Great effort being shown with training in Borrisokane and Ballinderry weekly and thanks to parents for bringing our players wherever needed.

Minors had a great win in the Football Semi Final on July 1^st with the final fixed for August 12^th. The Minor hurlers begin their campaign on Wednesday, July 8^th at 7:30pm away to Ballinhinch/Templederry.

Naomh Eoin plan to run a fundraiser with a raffle for a plot of turf footed and saved by our juvenile hurlers and mentors in the coming weeks. Keep an eye out for this on social media and please support!
